Johor Bahru: England beat Malaysia by 2-1 after having a tough competition in International Hockey Federation (FIH) World Hockey League Semi Final staled with a draw played at Johor Bahru.
Both teams start of aggressively in the first half. England’s Richard Smith in 20th minute of the match scored the first goal of the match which was leveled by Malaysia Tengku Tajudin scoring at the penalty corner in the first half.
England keep their aggressive approach in second half which keeps Malaysia under pressure. England after consecutive counter attacks manages to find a goal in the second half when Barry Middleton scored from close range just 12 minutes before the end of second half. The score remain the same till the end of the match.
Malaysia try desperately to leval the score but couldn’t manage to beat the English defence. With this victory over the host England have took the second sport at the points table.
