PESHAWAR: Pakistan, who is facing a skyrocketing power outages across the country, has been facing a loss of Rs. 2.5 billion on account of gas theft.
The General Manager of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) revealed the theft of such staggering amount.
“As many asĀ 65 FIRs have been registered against those involved in gas theft,” Arbab Saqib said while talking to media in capital city of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, Peshawar.
“Every possible step is being taken to overcome gas theft,” he further said.
Apart the annual theft of Rs. 2.5 billion, the MD further said gas theft was causing seven hundred fifty million rupees loss per month.
