ISLAMABAD: Asad Umar has been recommended strongly as PTI candidate from NA 48 in bye-elections during a meeting with PTI Chairman Imran Khan at his residence where the Chairman had called a meeting of PTI’s Islamabad-based leaders for consultations.
Adnan Randhawa leader of PTI from Islamabad was of the opinion that Asad Umar is not only a dedicated and selfless leader of PTI, he also enjoys widespread support among party workers especially the youth.
“Mr. Umar represents the true face of PTI and he should be in Parliament. Asad Umar, being an educated person with strong credentials and a successful professional with many feathers in his cap, would be a very suitable candidate for NA 48 in which more than 70% voters are urban and educated” said Randhawa.
Adnan Randhawa has urged all local aspirants of PTI’s ticket for NA 48 to work hard and pave way for Asad Umar’s entry in the Parliament where party needs capable people to show performance. Mr. Randhawa has publically expressed in several meetings with party workers that “Asad Umar would be a better choice than me in NA 48 for PTI’s ticket and I will work harder for his campaign in bye-elections than I would have done for my own campaign.
Participants of the meeting have also expressed apprehensions that PML(N) government in Islamabad will misuse state machinery to rig the upcoming bye-elections in Islamabad, of which PML(N) is known to be a past master.
“This would be the biggest challenge for PTI in bye-elections and if we could, somehow, manage to frustrate the expected efforts of rigging, we will win this seat with heavy margin”, Mr. Randhawa added.
