LAHORE: Facing tough crisis in his ministry, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique makes a pleasant yet gigantic vow to make Railways a profitable entity.
“The government plans to purchase new locomotives to revamp Pakistan Railways,” the minister said in an interview.
The Railways of the country has been facing a deficit of billions of rupees with condition of engines and bogies of the trains are in deplorable condition.
The minister was of the view that the PML-N government was committed to detect irregularities and corruption in the ministry.
“Several long term and short term plans have been launched to stop losses in the Pakistan Railways.”
Some measures for the new government purchasing new engines besides repairing existing ones to decrease gap between actual number of engines and the required number.
