London: Sri Lanka on Thursday won the toss and elected to field first in a crucial match of International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy against England played at the Oval.
Keeping in mind that Sri Lanka have lost its first match against New Zealand while itsĀ opponent England have beaten Australia in their first match. Sri Lanka have to win both matches to make its way to semi-finals.
As Ā far as the points table is concerned, New Zealand dominating with 3 points while host England is at second spot with 2 points. Defending champion Australia stands at third with one point and Sri Lanka is at the bottom place without opening its points table.
Both teams have met twice at ICC Champions trophy with England emerging victorious on both occasion. Statistics of One Day Internationals (ODI) also goes in favourĀ Ā of England with 26 victories out of 50 meetings. But Sri Lanka is not far behind as they manages to get 24 victories over England.
