This should be a good news for Apple lovers who are awaiting for next line of devices from the tech giant.
The Cupertino firm is looking to slash Android share from the market by slashing price of its mini tablet.
Citi Research analysis claims that Apple wish to sell iPad Mini this year with a price slash up to 100 dollars.
At present iPad Mini retail cost is around $ 329. So after the cut the mini tablet price will be around $225 to 250
Android tablets with their amazing specs at an affordable price has been eating up share of Apple’s devices. So keeping in view of the current scenario, Apple’s decision seems logical.
iPad Mini 2 is reportedly coming with a Retina Display with an improved camera specs to compete the extraordinary camera specs of the Android devices.
“Supply chain checks by Citi’s Asia-Pac Technology Team suggest a mix shift surprisingly toward Apple’s older iPhone4/4S,” Citi Research analyst Glen Yeung said in his note.
“And with our expectation of a low-end iPhone slated for September launch, followed by a sub-$250 iPad Mini, we expect this trend to persist.”
Although estimations are being made that it could be launched in Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, chances are high that iPad Mini 2 is likely to be released in September this year.
