RAWALPINDI: At least five people were injured in a clash between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) workers in Rawalpindi in wee hours on Saturday.
Sources said that the workers of both the parties clashed in NA- 56, a National Assembly’s (NA) constituency where PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PML-N’s Hanif Abbasi are contesting election.
“The angry workers attacked election offices of both the candidates, opened fire and used batons on each,” they said and added that five people were injured in the mishap and had been shifted to the Benazir hospital.
Heavy contingent of police has been reached in the constituency to control the situation.
