PESHAWAR: A blast near a bust stop in Peshawar has claimed eight lives while injuring 43 others as terrorists seem to be making the city their prime target.
The incident that occurred at Arbab Road hit a passenger bus, while police personnel were also among those injured according to the eye witnesses.
The apparent target of the blast was commissioner of the provincial capital, who remained unhurt.
On the other hand, SSP Imran Shahid said common people were the target of the attacker and the terrorists intended to spread panic among them. Â He also said that no VIP movement was designated for the route.
Following the incident, emergency was declared in all three major hospitals of the city, while massive traffic jam was witnessed because of closure of university road.
