LAHORE: Pakistan’s former Test cricketer and chief selector Amir Sohail has been agreed to run for president seat in the Lahore Regional Cricket Association (LCCA) election, a report said.
“Two major groups of the east zone met the former cricketer and assured him their full support in the election,” Express.pk reported and added that Mian Javed Ali, Sarfraz Ahmed, Malik Aslam, Hafizur Rehman were among others who called on Sohail and insisted him to run for the election.
During the meeting the members said that the LCCA’s tenure had been expired on March 31 therefore the president, secretary and treasurer should resign from their posts.
They also demanded the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to from an interim committee to bar the LCCA members from using any influence.
