Murree: Once again the pressure and influence is getting involved in the education sector of Pakistan and this time it’s Muree, where a principal was forced to tender his resignation after he refused to bow down in front of the pressure of a military officer.
According to sources, the principal of the Lawrence College, Brigadier (retd) Mohammad Hafeez tendered his resignation after a military officer forced him to withdraw the decision of expelling a student on the violation of discipline.
After immense pressure from the military officer and member of board of director, the principal submitted his resignation to Governor Punjab, which was later accepted and the principal was directed to immediately leave his residence at the college.
After the news came into the knowledge of the students, they started protests against the resignation saying that the former principal’s presence had raised the level of education and discipline in the college.
Meanwhile, talking to media, the principal has asked his students to continue their education instead of wasting time in protests. He further refused to explain the reasons behind the resignation, saying that the governor and other administration know very well about the reasons.
