Quetta: Balochistan National Party (BNP) Chief Akhtar Mengal has announced to participate in upcoming elections in Pakistan, here on Tuesday.
Mengal arrived in Karachi from Dubai on Monday after ending his self-imposed exile. Talking to reporters at the airport on his return, Mengal demanded the right of self-determination for the people of Balochistan.
Speaking to media on Tuesday, Akhtar Mengal said that his party has decided to participate in the upcoming polls.
“A three-member election panel has been formed which would meet other parties for seat adjustment,” he said.
Mengal further said that he met a three-member delegation of the Election Commission of Pakistan, which also included Chief Election Commissioner.
I had verbally and in black and white informed the election commission regarding the concerns and threats during the polls, he added.
He further said that the BNP was a democratic party and believes in the democratic system.
