PESHAWAR: At least 12 people were killed and 35 others were injured in a car blast at the Jalozai camp in Nowshera on Thursday.
The blast took place at a bazaar near the camp which hosts internally displaced persons from Pakistan’s tribal region.
The bomb contained at least 30-35 kilograms of explosives, according to the bomb disposal squad.
The bodies and the injured were being shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital where emergency was declared after the incident.
District police chief Mohammad Hussain told AFP news agency that number of casualties might rise given the intensity of the blast.
