Quetta: The Balochistan High Court on Tuesday restored Nawabzada Tariq Magsi as the opposition leader in the provincial Asembly, cancelling the notification from the Speaker for the appointment of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Abdul Wasay.
In a verdict given by two member bench of the BHC, the court termed the appointment of Abdul Wasay as unconstitutional.
It is to be mentioned here that Tariq Magsi challenged the decision of Speaker Balochistan Assembly to appoint JUI-F leader as the opposition leader in the BHC.
Earlier on October 23, Provincial legislator Nawabzada Tariq Magsi on Monday appealed for the appointment of a leader of the opposition through a letter he sent to the Balochistan Assembly Secretariat. Tariq Magsi is the younger brother of Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi.
Speaking to media after court verdict, Magsi said that he would send his proposed names for the interim chief minister to the incumbent chief minister Aslam Raisani on Wednesday.
