Islamabad: The National Assembly of Pakistan has been dissolved at midnight under the Article 52 of the Constitution.
Federal Law Minister Farooq H Naek said that a notification has been issued in this regard.
Earlier, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and all four provincial chief ministers—Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Shahbaz Sharif, Aslam Raisani and Ameer Haider Hoti—agreed in to hold elections of the national and provincial assemblies on the same day.
The agreement was reached during a meeting of PM Ashraf and the four provincial chief ministers and Governor Balochistan Nawab Zufiqar Ali Magsi at the PM House.
