Quetta: The constitutional deadlock persists in the Pakistan’s insurgency hit Balochistan province after the suspended chief Minister of the province, Aslam Raisani has refused to resign from his post, sources said.
On January 14, 2013, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf imposed governor rule in the province after a demand from the Shiite protestors, staging a sit-in with more than 90 bodies that fall prey to the deadly blasts in Alamdar road area of the Quetta.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Federal Minister, Khurshid Shah, has summoned a meeting of the party’s provincial lawmakers in Islamabad on Tuesday, to devise a strategy in the assembly.
Earlier, according to the sources, President Asif Ali Zqardari and other senior PPP leadership had asked Raisani to resign from his post but he refused to accept their requests.
Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulemai-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Sheerani also put forward a plan in front of PPP leadership that seven days should be given to Raisani after the restoration of the assembly and then a new chief minister should be elected.
