Islamabad: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday said that the completion of the parliament’s constitutional tenure is an incredible success for the democratic process in the country.
Giving a dinner in the honour of parliamentarians on Thursday, the PM Ashraf said that elections are interlinked with the continuity of democratic process and national security.
“Pakistani politics cannot bear further experiments,” he said adding that his party (Pakistan Peoples Party) would go to the court of people after the end of assembly tenure.
Responding to the issue of consultation between prime minister and opposition leader in National Assembly for the appointment of interim prime minister, Ashraf said that he had not received the names from Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
He further said that he would put forward two names for the interim pm, in response to the three names of Nisar.
