Karachi: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Syed Sardar Ahmed has been notified as new opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly.
The SA speaker issued the notification on Tuesday after the MQM member submitted the nomination request.
The MQM had last month nominated Syed Sardar Ahmed as the opposition leader after they parted their ways with the Pakistan People’s Party government in Sindh.
The move comes after Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad accepted resignations of MQM ministers on Tuesday morning.
Moreover, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) has also filed a writ petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC), seeking contempt proceeding against the speaker and deputy speaker for not complying the court’s order pertaining to the opposition leader.
