Lahore: Despite rain, a large number of people attended the 27th Lahore International Book Fair on Saturday which is under way at Expo Centre Johar Town of Lahore till February 18.
At least 350 stalls have been set up by Pakistani and foreign companies, where books on each topic of the world are available on discounted prices.
However, the stallholders have claimed the crowd was less than the previous years. Different educational institutions’ delegates visited the unique book fair and purchased their favourite books.
The crowd showed its keen interest in foreign publishers, including John Waley from the UK, Jones and Bartlett from the US, Elsvier Health Sciences India, US and UK, al Ghurair Publications from Dubai, Jaypee Brothers Publishers, Macmillan Publishers from India and Harmony Publications from Turkey.
The stalls of Oxford University Press, Readings, Liberty Books, Khalid Book, Dogar Publishers, Afaq Publications and many other renowned publishers were also part of the event.
Other publishers attended the fair were: Jaypee Brothers Publishers, Macmillan Publishers, Pearson Education Publishers, Wolters Kluwer, NCBA Exports, SK Kataria, Manas Punblications, Sunrise Publishers, AITBS Publishers, Asian Education Services, Khel Sahitya Kendra, Cambridge University Press India, Springer India, Vishv Books, Kalyan Publishers, Random Publishers and Sage Publishers.
