London: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday telephoned Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain and discussed the current political and law and order situation in the country.
According to PM House, Raja Pervez Ashraf also inquired about the health of the MQM chief.
The two leaders also discussed the appointment of the caretaker prime minister. Speaking on the occasion, Ashraf said that he would consult all the allied parties over the issue and soon he would write a letter to the Opposition Leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for the names of the interim prime minister.
Mr. Hussain said that the people of Pakistan wanted a free and fair election and therefore the government should appoint a clean person on the interim PM slot.
Altaf Hussain also demanded the premier to induct more policemen in Karachi as the current deployment was not sufficient to overcome the law and order situation in the metropolis.
