Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Tuesday directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Admiral (retd) Fasih Bokhari to appear before the apex court in next hearing on February 18.
Earlier on February 4, the Supreme Court gave the NAB chairman seven days to appoint a lawyer to represent him in the contempt of court proceedings against him.
The apex court had issued a show-cause notice under Article 204 of the Constitution read with Section 3 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance 2003 to the NAB chairman over a letter written by him to President Asif Ali Zardari.
In today’s hearing, Naveed Rasool Mirza advocate represented the NAB chairman and asked the apex court to grant two week time to submit reply on the contempt notice.
The SC rejected the chairman NAB’s solicitor plea and directed him to submit the reply till February 18. The court also directed NAB chairman to appear before the court on the same date.
