Islamabad: The Awami National Party (ANP) on Thursday announced to hold an all parties conference (APC) on February 14.
The main aim of the conference is to chalk out future course of action in the backdrop of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) offers for peace talks with the government.
Senator Haji Adeel presided over a meeting party lawmakers to review arrangements and contacts being made with other parties to bring them to the conference. Zahid Khan, Shahi Syed, Afrasiab Khttak and Bushra Gohar also attended the meeting.
Leaders of the ANP, which rules the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, have been calling for talks with the Taliban to hold general election smoothly.
Although different parties have announced to join the APC but the main stake holders of the the Khyber Pakhtunkhua province, where the ANP is ruling for last five years, Jamat-i-Islami (JI) and Jamiat Ulemai-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have refused to participate in it saying that the conference is nothing more than a political gimmick.
