Karachi: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Karachi chapter has announced strike on January 8 (Friday) to protest the killings of religious scholars in the city.
During a press conference in Karachi, JUI-F leaders said that the government had failed to protect religious figures, who were being killed in the city every other day.
They said they would announce sit-ins in the next phase if their demands were not met, and urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry to take suo motu notice of Ulema’s killings.
