Istanbul: Turkish police said on Sunday that a US woman Sarai Sierra who was found dead in Istanbul had been murdered by a blow to the head.
Sierra’s husband identified her body late on Saturday at an Istanbul morgue, state broadcaster TRT reported, according to Reuters.
She had been travelling alone when she was reported missing on January 21.
“It’s certain she was killed by a blow to the head,” police chief Huseyin Capkin was quoted as saying by CNN Turk television.
Body of Sierra, a 33-year-old mother of two, was discovered Saturday evening near the remnants of ancient city walls.
