Washington: Google offered $3.14159 million cash rewards for the hacker who can crack Chrome operating system at this year’s Pwnium Hacking Contest.
Google showed much confident on the Chrome’s security structure and offered $3.14150 million hacking prize for the successful hackers.
The contest will be held in March at the CanSecWest security conference in Vancouver, British Colombia Canada.
Previously, Google has offered reward of $1 million and $2 million in past Pwnium contests, last March at CanSecWest 2012 and last October at the Hack in the Box conference in Malaysia.
‘We believe these larger rewards reflect the additional challenge involved with tackling the security defenses of Chrome OS, compared to traditional operating systems,’ said by the Google Chrome developer Chris Evans.
The Firefox sets the hacking prize of $60,000 while Apple’s Safari offered $65,000. Internet Explorer for Windows 8 announced $100,000 while IE 9 on Windows 7 will pay $75,000 if it is hacked by someone.
The contesters are allowed to use fake identities for Pwnium. Previously a teenager was identified as Pinkie Pie, a name shared by a My Little Pony has won %60,000 at Pwnium.
Pwnium was designed as an alternative of Pwn2Own contest and was started last year with some changes in its rules which allows successful hackers to hide their hacking methods.
