Lahore: The City Government of Lahore ruled on Monday that the children who have not been given polio and measles vaccinations will not be issued birth certificates, and no child without vaccination card will get admissions in government schools.
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Noorul Ameen Mengal issued directives in this regard to all union councils in the city in a meeting.
The move came amid the growing number of measles and polio cases in the country.
The DCO said that an awareness campaign will initially be launched in Lahore, and if proved successful, it will be implemented throughout the province.
