Lahore: The Lahore High Court on Monday declared collection of fuel adjustment charges from consumers consuming upto 350 units per month as illegal while referred the case of those using more than 350 units to the National Electric Power Regularity Authority (Nepra).
The court asked the Nepra to decide the matter according to the law.
Earlier, domestic consumers, industrial units and various institutions had challenged the legality of collecting fuel adjustment through electricity bills. The court had already issued stay order over collection of fuel adjustment charges from consumers using upto 350 units.
