Islamabad: Former chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan Dr Atta-ur-Rahman said on Sunday that the government wanted HEC under Ministry of Education to get control over it.
Talking to media Rahman said that HEC was highly praised on national and international level for its performance.
The government had already attempted it before and that was third time, said Rahman. One of the reasons behind that was, fake degree holders sitting in parliament as HEC did not accept pressure over degrees verification.
He further said the corrupt government is eyeing HEC funds, which account up to billions of rupees.
