Lahore: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Admiral (retd) Fasih Bokhari on Monday announced to halt implementation of Rental Power Project (RPP) case until the matter of the death of NAB investigative officer Kamran Faisal comes its end.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan had ordered NAB to arrest 16 accused in RPPs case including Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf.
Attending a reference praising Kamran Faisal, the NAB chairman said that an independent investigation would be carried out in order to reveal facts behind the suicide of the NAB officer.
“NAB official would be included in every investigative team,” he said adding that the NAB would itself take action if the outcome of the probe would be unsatisfactory.
Bokhari further said that the security would be provided to the NAB investigative officials in order to work freely and independently adding that if any official would request to distance himself from any case, the requested would be accepted.
The Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Sunday formed a judicial commission led by Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal to reveal the motives of the Kamran Faisal’s suicide attempt. The commission would submit its report with two weeks.
