London: South Korea’s cellular giant Samsung Galaxy S4 will be powered with ARM’s long-awaited Cortex-A15 processor in the form of Exynos 5 dual-core chip, a report said.
For the uninitiated, the 1.7 GHz Exynos 5 dual SoC is based on ARM’s dual-core Cortex-A15 MPCore chip design, as well as ARM’s quad-core Mali-T604 GPU.
Adding more to the Galaxy S4 rumours, a new report says that the next generation Galaxy S device would feature wireless charging for the first time, something that will be compatible with the Qi standard developed by the Wireless Power Consortium.
Release date (rumours):
Samsung Galaxy S4 is likely to be released in the first quarter of 2013, Christian Post said.
According to the report — which based the claim on the hints ‘leaked’ by Samsung during a side gathering in the recently-concluded Las Vegas CES — Samsung recently showcased its smartphone with curved-display, still in concept stage, but one eye-catching presentation was a presentation that reportedly detailed the development of Super AMOLED screens that were deployed with Samsung’s high-end Galaxy devices.
Although Samsung has yet to officially confirm specs for the long-awaited Galaxy S4, according to various reports,
Exynos 5 Octa (8-Core) CPU
Mali-T658 (8-Core) GPU
4.99″ SuperAMOLED Full HD Resolution Display
2GB of RAM
13 Megapixel Rear facing Camera capable of shooting 1080p Full HD Videos at 30FPS
2 Megapixel front facing camera capable of shooting 720p HD Videos
Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean out of the box
Note: The Galaxy S4 is also rumored to run Samsung’s new Tizen OS.
