Islamabad: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Wednesday took one step back from his early statement of launching targeted operation against the sit-in of Tahirul Qadri’s and said that he never called for any operation.
Talking to media, the interior minister said that he would now take the matter to the standing committee of the National Assembly in order to decide the fate of the people present in front of the parliament house.
“I have different recommendations which will be presented in the meeting of national assembly standing committee,” he said.
Malik also said that registering an FIR of treason and arresting the main organizers of the sit-in were the main recommendations to be put forward before the committee.
There is a lot of pressure on me to register an FIR of treason against the organizers of the sit-in, he added.
