Islamabad: Pakistan’s Federal Law Minister Farooq H. Naek on Tuesday claimed that the Supreme Court of Pakistan has not directed to arrest Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf.
Talking to media, the law minister said that he had gone through the written verdict of SC but there was no direction from the apex court to arrest the premier.
“First Chairman NAB will decide that the case will be filed or not and after that investigations will begin,” he said.
He also said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) did not want the delay of elections and dissolution of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
“Tahirul Qadri’s demands are unconstitutional as the constitution does not allow consultations from army and judiciary for the interim setup.”
He further said that the protest of thousands was an attempt to defame the country.
