Islamabad: Around 45 per cent Pakistanis believe that the Pakistan government should not extend an official apology to Bangladeshi people for injustice in 1971.
In a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Some people think that there should be an official apology extended for the injustice done to Bangladeshi people by Pakistan in 1971, what is your opinion on this?”
Responding to this, 45 per cent believe Pakistani government should not apologise, 34 per cent believe that the Pakistani government should apologise to the Bangladeshi people, whereas 21 per cent did not give a view.
The survey was carried out among a sample of 2637 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country.
