Washington: The Pentagon on Tuesday hoped that Pakistan and India can maintain peace in the region. The statement came after attacks claimed by both sides on one another on Line of Control.
Responding to a question on Pakistan-India clashes at Line of Control (LoC) while giving a press briefing, the Pentagon spokesman George Little said that US Defence Secretary was aware of the tensions between the two neighbouring countries having nuclear arsenals.
“We are hopeful that Pakistan and India will maintain peace and stability in the region as it was endorsed during the visit of the region by US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta,” he said.
The spokesman further said that the along with Pakistan and India, United States was with all other countries who have strict stance against the militant groups.
