Islamabad: The federal government of Pakistan on Tuesday summoned additional police force from different provinces of the country in order to protect Islamabad, capital city of the country, from Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) leader Tahirul Qadri’s long March on January 14, 2013.
According to sources, additional security force of almost 13000 was summoned by the federal government from Punjab and Kashmir.
“5000 personnel of Rangers and Punjab Constabulary are summoned in the capital,” they said adding that 3000 policemen from Kashmir and 10 armored vehicles were also called for any emergency in the capital.
Meanwhile, the government has also placed barricades in red zone areas of Islamabad in order to avoid any infiltration of the marchers towards high security areas.
However, the PAT leader had said that he would continue his sit-in in the capital until and unless government approves his demands of appointment of unbiased interim prime minister and government.
