Karachi: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday applauded the contribution of business community of Karachi, a trade hub of Pakistan, in the progress of the country.
Addressing a gathering at Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), the prime minister said that the business community of Karachi was paying the most taxes in the country.
According to independent estimates, almost 65 percent of the total revenue of the country is collected from Karachi.
“Opinions of traders and business community are important for the progress and prosperity of the country,” he said adding that Karachi chamber was playing important role in this regard.
Mr. Ashraf further said that the next elections would be fair and free adding that it was the right of people to vote for whoever they wanted to.
