Karachi: The government of Pakistan has decided to expel more than 3000 employees from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) during next five years.
According to sources in finance ministry, the decision was taken in order to culminate the deficit of ailing PIA.
Almost Rs3.8 billion would be saved through this process annually, helping the airline to come out of the current deficit.
“18000 employees are working in PIA,” they said adding that there are 482 employees on one PIA airplane making it the highest rate in the world.
