Karachi: We do not have hatred for anyone, but what has happened to my son can harm Pakistan-India relations, reported an Urdu news daily.
These remarks immersed in deep grief were of Iftikhar Abbasi, father of Pakistan blind Cricket team’s captain Zeeshan Abbasi who had undergone hospital treatment after he was ‘administered’ a chemical instead of water.
“My son is facing life threat in India; he must be sent to another country for treatment,” he said.
He lamented that he has no information about their son except a short phone conversation with him and information received from the media. He noted with sorrow that his son is the captain of a national team but ‘no one from the PCB, Blind Cricket Association or representative from the government contacted them’.
Iftikhar expressed “My son is my asset and source of strength for me.” He said the nation should pray for his son so that he could bring victory for the country in the coming days.
