Lahore: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have closed down the investigations being conducted against IG Punjab Haji Habib ur Rehman’s son, alleging him of posting indecent photos of his former wife on Facebook.
The investigations against Aziz ur Rehman, IG Punjab’s son, have been brought down on the pressure of his father and highly influential persons, local newspaper reports on Saturday quoting credible sources.
Aziz ur Rehman’s ex-wife Rosha Raj lodged a complaint to FIA on 21st December, 2009 alleging that her ex-husband Aziz ur Rehman black-mail and malign her by merging her photos with the indecent ones and post the pictures on Facebook.
The FIA began investigations into the matter right after the complaint was filed and sought help from Interpol in February 2012 to track the account details.
The agency traced out the details of the account publishing indecent photos of Rosha Raj and found that those images were published on social networking website through IG Punjab’s son email address azizulrahman@gmail.com.
The investigative officer sent a notice to Aziz-ul-Rahman directing him to appear before the FIA but IG Punjab and other high officials started pressurizing FIA Punjab to bring down the investigation.
Moreover, Aziz-ul-Rahman filed an application in FIA Lahore on 27th April, 2010 stating that he received threatening emails from Rosha Raj, resulting in concluding the investigations.
FIA instead of inquiring into the matter, closed down the investigation process and observed that Aziz-ul-Rahman and Rosha Raj were former couples and both exchanged improper messages, thus the investigations comes to an end.
