Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday dissolved Shoaib Suddle commission probing a graft case involving the country’s chief justice’s son Arsalan Iftikhar and real estate tycoon Malik Riaz and ordered to public the commission’s report.
A two-member bench of the apex court comprising Justice Javad S Khawaja and Justice khilji Arif Hussain resumed the hearing of the case.
The bench ordered to dissolve the commission and said that there was no need of commission to probe the case further. The court also ordered to public the report prepared by the Suddle commission.
Zahid Bukhari, the counsel of Malik Riaz, accused the commission for not launching impartial investigation against Arsalan Iftikhar.
He said the flat that Arsalan had lived in, was rented out in millions of rupees but the commission didn’t investigate the matter. He further said the commission had no right to inquire about the tax and account details of Malik Riaz, saying that his name was put into the Exit Control List (ECL) to keep the foreign witnesses away from the case.
