Islamabad: The Abbottabad commission probing the presence of slain al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in Pakistan on Friday admitted that the terror organization chief was present during the raid conducted by US Navy SEALs in the garrison town of the country.
US Navy SEALs carried out a secret operation inside the Pakistani territory on May 2, 2011, killing al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden, his son and two other people. The Pakistani government formed a commission to probe the presence of high profile terror figure inside the garrison area of the country.
According to sources, the commission has prepared the final draft of the report, which comprises of 700 pages. The commission would present the report to the government during December. It would also present 200 recommendations to the government.
The report comprises of 300 statements from witnesses and 3000 documents. It also contains testimonies from different people including bin Laden family, civil and army officials of the country.
It is to be mentioned here that the commission probing bin Laden presence spend 16 months during its investigations.
