Karachi: Top rated Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar has ruled any possibility of retiring as an umpire from International cricket over recent criticism by former Australian cricketer and vowed to move on.
Talking to media, Dar acknowledged the criticism on him saying that even umpire has a bad day and he will call it a day once he feel it.
“Every umpire has a bad day and can make mistakes. I will step down from the elite panel and retire from umpiring, the day I feel I am not fit for the job,” he said.
Earlier, Shane Warne lashed out at him for some poor decisions made by him during India-England test match which Indian lost by 10 wickets.
Responding to the criticism, Dar said, “”I’m not bothered about Warne’s tweet. I’ll keep on doing my job. When I feel have lost the confidence to supervise a match properly and give decisions, I will call it a day.”
Aleem Dar, who has received ICC Umpire of the year Award for three consecutive years between 2009 and 2011, also thanked Pakistani media that supported him all the way through saying, “I want to thank the Pakistan media for supporting me. I am a human and it is no big deal if I make mistakes”
