New Delhi: Pakistan legendary umpire Aleem Dar who gained immense prestige from across the world due to his ace umpiring is under severe criticism from Australian legend Shane Warne.
Former Aussie leg-spinner cum commentator lashed out at one of world’s best umpire due to umpiring errors and poor decisions taken by him during the ongoing Test series between India and England.
Shane Warne, who is in India nowadays for commentary during the India-England series, took to twitter and passed strong judgments against Dar on Monday, tweeting: “Players get dropped if they have poor form, Aleem Dar has had 2 shockers in India & always has been a bad decision maker! Poor umpire…”
According to few sport analysts, Aleem Dar, 44, lacked judgment in his most recent assignment. On number of occasions, mainly during the first Test at Ahmadabad, he took wrong decisions against both the teams.
It is pertinent to mention here that Shane Warne had such problems from Pakistani umpires in the past also. First time he had quarrel with Pakistani umpire was during the Boxing Day Test in 2005 between Australia and South Africa.
Warne, who was playing the match, was seen furious at Asad Rauf when the TV Cameras and the field microphones picked the shots and voice of him arguing with Rauf.
Two years ago, similar incident occurred between Aleem Dar and former Australian captain Ricky Ponting during Ashes played in Australia. Ponting had a row with Aleem Dar who later was fined 40% of his match fees by ICC as he pointed finger at Dar in a insulting manner.
World’s top-rated umpire Aleem Dar has received ICC Umpire of the year Award for three consecutive years between 2009 and 2011.
