Lahore: Seven passengers were killed in a cylinder blast on Monday when fire broke out in a passenger van at Multan road in Pakistan’s province of Punjab.
According to motorway police, the incident occurred at Multan road near Manga Mandi when the van was on its way to Lahore from Sahiwal.
The casualties include a wife and husband along with their two children, sources said.
As per the initial reports, the reason behind the lit up was lightning cigarette due to which the fire extended in the van.
The rescue sources reached the spot without any delay. The rescue work has begun and bodies of dead and injured have been shifted to local hospital. “The injured are in critical condition,” hospital sources said.
