Karachi: Mobile phone services that were suspended in Karachi and Quetta, two metropolitans of Pakistan, from 1 pm on Friday have started to resume on Friday night.
The services were suspended on the directions of Interior ministry, led by Rehamn Malik, amid concerns that militants might target Shiite mourning processions with IEDs.
The Interior minister has said that the militants use mobile phones in triggering Improvised Electronic Devices (IEDs).
Earlier, Malik claimed that 90 per cent of the bombs set off by militants in Pakistan have been detonated using mobile phones.
It is to be mentioned here that mobile services will remain suspended during Ashura in 48 cities across Pakistan.
