Islamabad: The Cable Operators of Pakistan (CAP) has refuted the accusations that they had blocked six Pakistani entertainment channels on cable networks.
The channels are: Geo Entertainment, ARY Digital, KTN Entertainment, HUM TV, Express Entertainment and TV One.
In a statement issued on Friday, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) chairman Dr Abdul Jabbar said some licensed cable operators reportedly blocked the channels because of a dispute between the CAP and few members of Pakistan Broadcasting Association (PBA).
But cable operators now say they are moving the channels to a digital system and denied reports that some channels are being blocked in the country.
Sources, on the other hand, said the cable operators jammed these channels as a protest against a ban on Indian entertainment channels, which they are pushing the PEMRA to restore for quite some time now.
