Islamabad: The registrar office of the Supreme Court of Pakistan has returned the application of government filed to review the remarks used in the verdict pertaining to the president.
The application was returned by the office on the grounds of eligibility of the application as it didn’t have the mandatory court fees of Rs 10,000 affixed with it .
The review petition was filed by the Additional Attorney General of Pakistan, requesting to omit words about the president in the case. The AAG said that the apex court cannot pass such a verdict; the office of the president is political in nature one and hence does not restrain him from taking part in political activities.
Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had said that in his verdict that president is the symbol of federation and should not favor any particular group or person.
