Karachi: Pakistan’s Sindh government is considering suspending cellular services during 9th and 10th Muharram amid concerns that the terrorists could target rallies taken out in order to laud the sacrifices given by Imam Hussain (R.A) and his allies.
According to sources, during a provincial cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, the participants suggested that the cellular services should be suspended during the two days of Muharram.
The cabinet also decided that the surveillance helicopters would be used during the Muharram gatherings in order to scrutinize them. They also decided to deploy 2500 law enforcement forces covering the rallies.
It is to be mentioned here that the Pakistani government has used suspension of cellular services as regular tactic in order to avoid any terror attack during particular days.
