The vice Chancellor, University of Sindh, Dr. Nazir A Mughal has stressed that the faculty members should fulfill their responsibilities by being fair with University as well as their jobs at any cost.
This, he stated while addressing an Eid Milan Party at Center of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry, University of Sindh, Jamshoro.
Registrar Muhammad Nawaz Narejo, Director Graduates Studies Abdul Sattar Almani, Professor Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaeli, Prof. Ghulam Ali Buriro and others were also present in the party.
The Vice Chancellor further said that despite, disturbances and crisis created by a group of teachers, the administration succeeded to attract a large number of students for getting admissions in M.Phil degree program.
“A record of 1700 candidates applied for the said program, which proves that Sindh University has restored the confidence of the masses by providing quality education.”
Dr. Mughal further stated that he had opened up campuses of Sindh University at Thatta, Bhit Shah, Sukkur and he was sure that these campuses will cater the higher education needs of so many students across the province.
“New campuses will ultimately become universities and budget for them has also been allocated, this is really a change, we want educational revolution in Sindh & thus the future of our youngsters will shine up”, the Vice Chancellor described.
Dr. Mughal termed the establishment of International Universities of peace, Sufism & Modern Sciences (IUPSMS) Bhit Shah as an attempt to promote peace, harmony, tolerance & concept of liberalism, saying respect for all religions will be ensured on the campus.
He said that there are many universities working for promoting the peace in Europe and he is constantly in touch with them to seek financial support wherefrom to make Sufi University stand on its own feet and show unprecedented performances in promoting the peace and harmony among the masses and nations.
He addressed the faculty as saying that 400 research scholars out of 1700 will be enrolled and what will be of those 1300 candidates, who applied for M. Phil and could not qualify?
“I think, responsibility lays on the shoulders of our faculty to worry about the future of all those, who could not be enrolled as research scholars in the university, they have to set a mechanism keeping the Higher Education Commission (HEC) criteria in view” the vice chancellor said.
“Joblessness in the province is on the rise therefore the faculty should get involved in community development process so that we may make the community as educated, progressed and tension free from job perspectives.”
