Lahore: Full back Muhammad Imran is expected to lead Pakistan’s senior national hockey team in two major tournaments in Australia later this month, sources said.
Muhammad Imran will replace Suhail Abbas to lead the team in the International Super Series – Perth, November 22-25 and 34th Champions Trophy Tournament to be held in Melbourne from December 1-9. The team will be named today as the players undergo training at Johar Town Hockey Stadium in Lahore.
Field Hockey is the national sport of Pakistan that has become one of the most successful teams in international competitions. The green shirts have won a world record of four Hockey World Cup titles. It is hoped that the team will work fine with the fresh development and win laurels for the country in the upcoming events.
