Islamabad: Pakistan Law Minister Farooq H. Naek has said government is devising ‘postal balloting’ method for overseas Pakistan and will amend the law as soon as a consensus is achieved on the subject.
Speaking to the media after his meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner in the capital city of Islamabad, he said the federal government is making efforts to ensure that polling for the national and provincial assemblies is conducted on the same day, hoping that chief ministers will coordinate with the federal government in the process.
Naek assured that elections will be held transparently and timely. He added that announcement of the date of election is the prerogative of president of Pakistan while the entire process takes its due time of 50 days to complete.
